The Pulsar Settings Manager tab exposes various administrative tasks.

Upload/Download

From the Pulsar Settings Manager tab, you can export/import Pulsar Settings for your organization.  Uploading the Pulsar Settings file will not delete newly-added settings (added since the prior download), but uploading will overwrite settings where there is a key+priority match.

Process ValidationRules

If you do not wish to run ValidationRules offline in the Pulsar mobile app, you can safely ignore this section.

Release 2.0 of the Pulsar Settings AppExchange package introduces the ability to convert the ValidationRules of your organization into Pulsar Settings so that those rules can be run offline in the Pulsar app.

Because normal users cannot query for ValidationRules, you will need to run a pre-processing step once and for every subsequent change to ValidationRules for objects specified in the pulsar.sync.objects setting.

  • To run the pre-processing, first make sure you added the correct endpoint shown to your Remote Site Settings
  • Click 'Process ValidationRules' button to begin processing.  Note that for some organizations it can take some time to complete...
  • After rules are processed, you will see new auto-generated Pulsar Settings show up with the key prefix pulsar.~auto.ValidationRule.
  • Please do not directly edit auto-generated settings
  • Click 'Clear Settings' button to remove all auto-generated Pulsar Setting ValdiationRules
  • Beginning in Spring 2019, ValidationRules will be evaluated in the Pulsar app if you have set pulsar.validation.enableSFDCValidationRules Pulsar Setting to TRUE

Process Quick Action Predefined Fields

If you do not wish to run Quick Actions offline in the Pulsar mobile app, you can safely ignore this section.

If you encounter the error "Web service callout failed: WebService returned a SOAP Fault: INSUFFICIENT_ACCESS" ... you will need to enable unrestricted API Access to the PulsarSettings package.  Go to Setup > Installed Packages > click on the PulsarSettings package ... For the API Access field, click Disable Restrictions.
