What is Pulsar?

What does Pulsar do?

Pulsar is a mobile app that allows you to use Salesforce on your mobile device even when you are offline. You can use the app both in online and offline mode. The difference is when you are online, the changes you are making on the app are reflected on the Salesforce platform right away. When offline, it stores these changes locally and will push them next time you are connected to the network. You can log in to Pulsar using your Salesforce login credentials. It doesn’t require you to create a separate login. You can use Pulsar on your computer, tablet, or mobile phone. Pulsar runs on all three platforms: iOS (14 and above), Android (Android 8 and above), and Windows (Windows 10 and above).

How will I use Pulsar?

You may use Pulsar all the time, or you may only use it when you are away from your desk.

Your org may choose to implement Pulsar in one of two ways:

  • An app that is the only way to access Salesforce, whether you are at your desk or on mobile, online or offline.

  • As a mobile extension to Salesforce. In this case, you will log into Salesforce from your computer while at your desk and you will log into Pulsar when you are away from your desk.

What can you access in Pulsar?

Your company will have already set up the app to work with Salesforce to address your specific use case. Your IT department will determine and configure whether you have access to some or all of your Salesforce data in Pulsar. They will also determine how often you need to login and how often sync will occur between Pulsar and Salesforce.

Additionally, your organization may set up custom workflows, pages, or dashboards in Pulsar to make it easier for you to do your job or easier to visualize your Salesforce data.

How do I get Pulsar?

Pulsar can be downloaded from the app stores for iOS, Android, or Windows. Your organization may choose how to deploy Pulsar to you in a particular way. Contact your IT department to find out how they wish for you to get Pulsar.
